Honey Bee & Lavender Cottage was created to celebrate those moments.
We believe that home is not measured by perfection but by love. It is found in well-used recipes, handwritten notes tucked into cookbooks, gardens that bloom in their own time, and family traditions passed from one generation to the next.

Melissa is the heart behind Honey Bee & Lavender Cottage. A lifelong homemaker, artist, teacher, and storyteller, she has spent decades gathering recipes, traditions, celebrations, and practical wisdom from everyday family life. She believes that the smallest moments often become the greatest treasures and that hospitality begins long before anyone knocks on the front door.
Her greatest joy is helping women create homes where faith is quietly lived, children feel safe, and everyone who enters knows they are welcome.
Chelsea
Business Manager • Needlework Artist • Naturalist
Chelsea is the cottage's quiet naturalist — the one who knows the Latin name of every plant in the garden, keeps a notebook full of herbal notes, and has probably been knitting something beautiful since before breakfast.
Her hands are rarely still. You'll find her cross-stitching by the window, working a crochet pattern from memory, or tending something growing in a pot on the sill. She has a deep love for the old ways — natural foods, plant medicine, handmade things — and a genuine belief that what we put in and on our bodies matters as much as how we tend our homes.
She also keeps the cottage running. Behind every resource we publish is Chelsea making sure the details are right, the timing is thoughtful, and the work we offer is worthy of the trust you place in us.
She believes the most useful things in life are also often the most beautiful — a well-made stitch, a properly dried herb, a home that knows how to take care of its people.
Olivia

Olivia is the cottage's creative soul — and she is always, always making something.
Whether she's in the kitchen testing a new recipe, converting a beloved family classic to gluten-free without losing a single drop of its magic, sketching out an idea, or diving deep into the history of a dish that's been passed down for generations, her hands and her mind are perpetually in motion. She approaches old recipes the way others approach fine art — with reverence, curiosity, and a deep respect for the people who made them first.
A maximalist at heart, Olivia believes that more beauty, more flavor, more history, and more love are almost always the right answer.
But underneath all the creativity is something even more essential: she is a giver. Everything she makes, she makes thinking of the joy it will bring to someone else — the friend who needed something gluten-free so she could finally eat the birthday cake, the neighbor who gets a jar of something wonderful left on the porch, the family gathered around the table who didn't know they needed that particular dish until it appeared in front of them.
She is the youngest of us — and somehow she already has it all together.
The cottage kitchen is her domain, and we are all deeply grateful for it.
